is near. 33 So also, when you see all these things, you know that he is near,

until all these things have taken place. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away,
but my words will not pass away. 36
"But about that day and hour no one knows, neither the angels of heaven,
nor the Son, but only the Father. |

Noah were, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For as in those days
before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in
marriage, until the day Noah entered the ark, 39 and they knew nothing until
the flood came and swept them all away, so too will be the coming of the Son
of Man. 40 Then two will be in the field; one will be taken and one will be
left. 41 Two women will be grinding meal together; one will be taken and one
will be left. 42 Keep awake therefore, for you do not know on what day your
Lord is coming. 43 But understand this: if the owner of the house had known
in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake
and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 Therefore you also must
be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an unexpected hour. |
35 Therefore, keep awake_for you do not know when the master of the house
will come, in the evening, or at midnight, or at cockcrow, or at dawn. 33
Beware, keep alert; for you do not know when the time will come. |

Just as it was in the days of Noah, so too it will be in the days of the Son
of Man. 27 They were eating and drinking, and marrying and being given in
marriage, until the day Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and
destroyed all of them. 28 Likewise, just as it was in the days of Lot: they
were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building, 29 but
on the day that Lot left Sodom, it rained fire and sulfur from heaven and
destroyed all of them 30 _it will be like that on the day that the Son of Man
is revealed. 31 On that day, anyone on the housetop who has belongings in the
house must not come down to take them away; and likewise anyone in the field
must not turn back. 32 Remember Lot's wife. 33 Those who try to make their
life secure will lose it, but those who lose their life will keep it. 34 I
tell you, on that night there will be two in one bed; one will be taken and
the other left. 35 There will be two women grinding meal together; one will
be taken and the other left." 39

gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his
ability. Then he went away. 42
Keep awake therefore, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. |

journey, when he leaves home and puts his slaves in charge, each with his
work, and commands the doorkeeper to be on the watch. 35 Therefore, keep awake_for you do not know when the master of the house
will come, in the evening, or at midnight, or at cockcrow, or at dawn, 36 or
else he may find you asleep when he comes suddenly. 37 And what I say to you
I say to all: Keep awake." |
36 Be alert at all times, praying
that you may have the strength to escape all these things that will take
place, and to stand before the Son of Man.” 12 So he said, "A
nobleman went to a distant country to get royal power for himself and then
return. 13 He summoned ten of his slaves, and gave them ten pounds, and said
to them, 'Do business with these until I come back.' 40 You also must be ready,
for the Son of Man is coming at an unexpected hour." 38
If he comes during the middle of the night, or near dawn, and finds them so,
blessed are those slaves. |

"Who then is the faithful and wise slave, whom his master has put in
charge of his household, to give the other slaves their allowance of food at
the proper time? 46 Blessed is that slave whom his master will find at work
when he arrives. 47 Truly I tell you, he will put that one in charge of all
his possessions. 48 But if that wicked slave says to himself, 'My master is
delayed,' 49 and he begins to beat his fellow slaves, and eats and drinks
with drunkards, 50 the master of that slave will come on a day when he does
not expect him and at an hour that he does not know. 51 He will cut him in
pieces and put him with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and
gnashing of teeth. |

“Be on guard so that your hearts are not weighed down with dissipation and
drunkenness and the worries of this life, and that day does not catch you
unexpectedly, 35 like a trap. For it
will come upon all who live on the face of the whole earth. 36 Be alert at all times, praying that you
may have the strength to escape all these things that will take place, and to
stand before the Son of Man.” 37
Every day he was teaching in the temple, and at night he would go out and
spend the night on the Mount of Olives, as it was called. 38 And all the people would get up early in
the morning to listen to him in the temple. Luke 12:41-48 41
Peter said, “Lord, are you telling this parable for us or for everyone?” 42
And the Lord said, “Who then is the faithful and prudent manager whom his
master will put in charge of his slaves, to give them their allowance of food
at the proper time? 43 Blessed is that slave whom his master will find at
work when he arrives. 44 Truly I tell you, he will put that one in charge of
all his possessions. 45 But if that slave says to himself, ‘My master is
delayed in coming,’ and if he begins to beat the other slaves, men and women,
and to eat and drink and get drunk, 46 the master of that slave will come on
a day when he does not expect him and at an hour that he does not know, and
will cut him in pieces, and put him with the unfaithful. 47 That slave who
knew what his master wanted, but did not prepare himself or do what was
wanted, will receive a severe beating. 48 But the one who did not know and
did what deserved a beating will receive a light beating. From everyone to
whom much has been given, much will be required; and from the one to whom
much has been entrusted, even more will be demanded. |

he came again to the temple. All the people came to him and he sat down and

37 Every day he was
teaching in the temple, and at night he would go out and spend the night on
the Mount of Olives, as it was called. 38 And all the people would get up
early in the morning to listen to him in the temple. |
